Juliet Johnson, 2017 California State Teen Ambassadress
Juliet is 16 years old and attends West Campus High School in Sacramento, California where she is active in soccer and swimming. She is an excellent student and a member of the Key Club and the West Campus Engineering Program. She maintains a 4.6 GPA and has received special honors in English Language Arts, was a Science Academic Achievement Award Winner, an Optimist Club Essay Contest Winner and won 1st place in a Speech/Debate Tournament. But her passion is music, especially dance. She began dancing at a very young age and currently teaches and choreographs dances for herself and others. She is also an accomplished pianist and enjoys composing music. As the Teen Ambassadress for Youth Focus, Juliet wants to serve as a role model to younger kids and encourage them to be part of this program so they too can be inspired and changed for the better.
Elleda Spitzer, 2017 Golden State Teen Ambassadress
Elleda is 15 years old and attends Scotts Valley High School. An outstanding student, she maintains a 4.0 GPA and has received many academic awards, including the Rotary Outstanding Academic Achievement Award twice. She was Scotts Valley High School’s Student of the month twice and has been on the Principal’s list for the past four years. Musical theater is her passion. She is a dancer – tap, jazz and ballet, and is an accomplished singer. She has also taught herself to play the Ukulele. In school she is involved with choir, Haunted House Thriller Zombie Dancer, Cabaret Night, Bring Change 2 Mind Club, Interact Club, Drama Club, Dance Club, and Student Government. Elleda understands the importance of using her talents to give back to the community and is looking forward to performing and representing Youth Focus as the Golden State Teen Ambassadress.
John Houk, 2017 California State Teen Ambassador
John is 14 years old and a student at Leland High School in San Jose. He is involved in volleyball, hockey, surfing and snowboarding. An excellent student, he participates in speech and debate. An accomplished pianist, he received the Piano Certificate of Merritt for six years and received various honors at piano recitals and piano conventions. He has also received awards for piano in various Youth Focus talent competitions. John enjoys riding his go kart that he designed and built in 2014 as well as BMX, MTB and skateboarding. John would like to use his musical talent to bring joy and happiness to his local community.
